Archaeologists to look into historic graffiti at Willow Court

Whilst preparing for the recent 2017 Halloween After Dark Tour I noticed a section of the Barracks was cornered off with witches hats and a sign.
Upon further investigation I learnt that the guys at Flinders University are going to study a historic and unknown piece of graffiti.

I remember seeing this as a kid and always wondered who wrote all these random numbers and why.
Many, many years on I'm still wondering why and now that Willow Court is gradually opening up to visitors many others are asking the same questions.

I have heard theories behind the graffiti over the years but I'm not convinced. However I'm really pleased that some professionals are really going to try and debunk the infamous corner of the barracks.
