Derwent Valley Council
Council Meeting Minutes
20 September 2012
**9.2 REMOVAL AND RELOCATION OF FENCING WILLOW COURT **
**Discussion **
This matter has been discussed by council on several occasions, and is now also being
discussed by the Willow Court Conservation Special Committee. I also note that
discussions have been held with the owner of the Administration Building and that he
was to provide a price to fence along the Avenue.
It is my understanding that to date this quote has not been received. I was also
involved when a number of Councillors met on site to determine a location but no
agreement was reached. The fencing currently around the site is part owned by
Council and part is rented. It is my view that this matter should be addressed as soon
as possible to reduce our monthly outlays.
It is also my view that the owner of the administration building should be responsible
for his own fencing arrangements.
The fence I am talking about is a temporary fence using the fencing owned by
Council and that it should be installed to best protect our buildings.
The Acting Mayor, Cr Barry Lathey advised he wished to talk to the motion and
vacated the chair.
Cr Judy Bromfield took the chair. Derwent Valley Council
That Council as a matter of urgency removes and relocates the security fencing at
Willow Court from around the Administration Building and relocates it to secure
Council owned properties only. Derwent Valley Council
That the matter of the location for the fencing in the Willow Court Precinct be
referred to the Willow Court Conservation Special Committee to be dealt with as a
matter of urgency.
Deputy Mayor Cr Barry Lathey took the chair.
