I stumbled across a song written about Ward 4 on youtube. It was written and performed by Kris McIntosh.
Kris stated that he moved to Hobart from Brisbane 12 months ago and when visiting New Norfolk he stumbled across Willow Court. Kris said that he was amazed with the history of the place and the state that it’s in today.
Ward 4 was a former Ward of the Royal Derwent Hospital. It was built in 1959 and demolished in 2010.
The song is quite powerful and moving, I think it really helps you capture a bit of perspective. I really enjoyed this song, I think you will too.
