Willow Court Tunnel Video

Hi all

The Derwent Valley Council has obtained video footage of about 100m of the tunnel, which lies up to 8m beneath one of New Norfolk’s busiest streets.

The tunnel was believed to have been built in the 1830s.

The video shows a section of the tunnel on Burnett St from roughly outside the United Service Station with filming reportedly finishing  near the round- a- bout on High St.

Even today there is no conclusive evidence to what the tunnels main use was.
